Happy birthday Heather T.!

We hope you're having a wonderful day, and that the final gasp of medical school is treating you very well indeed.

In honor of your birthday, we offer you a rather unconventional take on the Batman theme:
(If you haven't seen the Lego Movie yet, you should.  This applies to everyone.)

Happy Actual Birthday to Jack H.!

For some reason, we wished Jack H. a happy birthday last month
even though his birthday is today. So, apologies for that mistake,
Jack, hopefully there wasn't too much early unruly crazy birthday
celebrating last month due to our mistake. Since today is your
actual birthday, we would like to again wish you the happiest
of birthdays! Please enjoy this birthday-themed music video to mark
the occasion.

No real reason, it just looked cool and we thought you'd get a kick out of it.  We're certainly not hoping you'll be inspired and incorporate some of these moves into your thesis defense...nope, not at all...

Spring is Here!

It looks like winter is finally over with a fairly safe margin
to start calling it spring. So be thankful for the warmth and sunshine.
Also be thankful that spring won't put you in a spot
as uncomfortable as Winston here.

Happy birthday Natalie G.!

Hope you're having an absolutely wonderful day!  Congratulations on reaching the tail end of your first year of graduate school, and we hope that your remaining time there is full of novel discoveries and lots and lots of papers.  :)

In honor of your public health work, the UW MSTP blog would like to share with you our very favorite public health PSA of all time:

(We know it doesn't represent the type of population health sci that you do, but, as the UW MSTP blog secretly has the sense of humor of a ten-year-old, we couldn't quite resist.)

Today is the Day of The 2015 MSTP Symposium!

Spring break is over today for our Med 1 and Med 2 (and in some cases, Grad #) students, but what better way to ease back in to the rest of the semester than with MSTP Symposium? This year we're looking forward to some great student talks from our very own Jon S., Arick P, Kimberly K., and Brendan F., a keynote presentation from Dr. Helen Hobbs, and a program dinner afterward. Speaking of dinner, here are some photos of dinner from last year's Symposium dinner:

Salad! (and if you look closely at the background, cookies!~)

Chicken and Squash.

Vegetarian option: gigantic lasagna.
