And if you don't believe us, just ask BBC Travel, which recently named Madison, WI as one of the top five University Towns in the world. That's right, the world.

Boldly informing you that this is technically NOT the "official" blog of the UWMSTP. Also informing you that there does not exist an "official" blog of the UWMSTP and that this blog is the only one run by actual UWMSTP students with an emphasis on UWMSTP-relevant content. Just sayin'.

Happy Thanksgiving!
The song may be a year old, but if there's one day of the year to play it that would be today.

Rollin' Safari
The Rollin' Wild Youtube channel has some awesome videos depicting a world in which animals are not only round but kind of bouncy. These short videos make for a strangely soothing study break.

The More You Know (about misapplied logos)
Even though these two symbols are apparently mixed up sometimes when used to represent medical practice, the white coats from the UW School of Medicine and Public Health definitely feature the correct Rod of Asclepius!

Cast Your Vote!
UW MSTP-ers Layla B., Sumit K., and Jason C. participated in UW Madison's 2013 100 Hour Challenge this past weekend, creating a prototype urine test that can detect early-stage fungal meningitis. Pretty cool!
The winners are being chosen by popular vote, and this project is currently running behind a "desk doubling" contraption by about 60 votes (far less impressive, some might say).
So check out their video here and cast your vote!

Undergrads in their Natural Habitat
Main campus at UW Madison is teaming with undergraduate students during the academic year. Sometimes we find that the most entertaining way to interact with them is to just observe and take notes on their particular behaviors as one might in a nature documentary.
Overheard at the local Steep & Brew coffee shop:
"I was still tipsy when I went to the library. Things that make me smile. Period."
"We're listing people that are normal. Like not weird. Like not me. I'm weird. I'm a weird person."
"She's the classic girl. I wouldn't call her trendy, I'd call her classic. But, like, normal."
"You, like, can't say that...it's degrading. It's like vomiting--you can say it and that's fine but, like, only if no one hears."

I Propose that UWMSTP Adopt a Version of this, Perhaps with a Cape and a Halberd?
This seems awesome, and then you realize that it is actually a real thing,
at which point it becomes even more awesome.

Here are Erin T. and Mitch B. doing some good old-fashioned pumpkin carving.
